At this year’s Infocomm, Vaddio featured their Vaddio RoboSHOT line, which now includes support for NewTek’s NDI software-driven IP workflow. Vaddio’s RoboSHOT HDMI PTZ cameras offer high quality imaging for conference rooms and classrooms, as well as larger venues such as live event theatres or large auditoriums.
With NDI integration, RoboSHOT cameras are now recognizable as a source by other NDI-enabled devices and applications connected to a standard Ethernet local area network, enabling production operators access to and control of professional PTZ cameras in NewTek NDI environments. NDI allows multiple video streams on a shared connection and supports high quality, low latency, frame-accurate video over standard Ethernet networks.
The NewTek NDI standard provides a more cost effective and efficient approach to distributed production environments resulting in higher quality, timely content delivery and production. The NDI standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of products from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek’s technology enabling IP interoperability. As a result, NDI-enabled cameras like RoboSHOT can be immediately part of a larger IP-based workflow.
With NDI, remote studio operations can be realized over standard network infrastructure saving significant manpower without degradation of the live production event. NDI enables an operator in a centralized studio or network operating center to conduct live production events across the whole campus without having to be physically present.
