Designed to record high-quality 3D audio for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) content, the AMBEO VR Mic is an Ambisonics microphone that uses four KE 14 cardioid capsules in a tetrahedral structure. Ambisonics microphones capture sound from every direction, from one single point, to gather a full 360-degree representation of sound in an environment creating realistic, immersive audio. Ambisonics is supported by all of the major post-production and playback tools available today, making it an ideal solution for any application involving 3D sound.
The raw 4-channel output delivered by the AMBEO VR Mic is A-format, which is then converted to Ambisonics B-format via the Sennheiser AMBEO A-B format converter plugin. The plugin can be downloaded free for VST, AU and AAX format for both PC and Mac.
The AMBEO VR Mic comes with a balanced split cable 4x XLRs 3-pins, extension cable, Rycote suspension mount and a foam windshield.
