Infocomm, the largest trade show for audiovisual technology in North America, has announced that the 2020 show, which was scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, June 16-18th, will now be replaced with what they are calling a virtual audiovisual and integrated experience event. Taking place on the same dates as the original tradeshow, it will now take place exclusively online.

The virtual show will still include product information, training and networking, only now in the comfort and safety of your home office. Their website asks interested parties to check back soon for registration and a schedule of the virtually provided keynotes, education sessions and get-together events.

With other large AV tradeshows coming up, such as ISE in August and CEDIA, scheduled to take place in September, the question still looms as to whether these shows will take the same path as Infocomm. As Infocomm leads the charge as the first major AV show to go virtual, it is yet to be seen how exhibitors will step up to the challenge and to see if this trend will take flight.
