Altia Systems, the creators of Panacast 2, the first 4K panoramic camera, have recently launched their next generation panoramic camera, Panacast2s, the very first software-defined panoramic 5K (5120×1440 pixels per frame) video camera system, designed for use in medium to large conference rooms.
Compatible with any video collaboration service, the compact camera system offers a 180 degree field of view combined with intelligent vision capabilities such as ‘people counting’ and ‘facial recognition’ that improve range and accuracy of object recognition and tracking.
A CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree, the Panacast 2s implements the PanaCast video processor as a PanaCast Computer Vision Engine (PCVE), an industry first implementation with an OpenCL pipeline, which uses CPU and GPU processing to achieve high performance, low latency video. The camera system delivers 4x lossless digital zoom up to 16 feet at 720p and 30 frames per second allowing it to be used in large collaboration spaces without loss of quality.
With Altia’s Intelligent Zoom, the Panacast 2s automatically zooms in or out to keep everyone in the room visible. The system also features Panacast Vivid, which optimizes the video quality in any lighting condition allowing participants to enjoy the best possible video experience. It is expected to also soon support PanaCast Whiteboard, people recognition and API for artificial intelligence and machine learning based applications.
