MA Division of Fisheries and Wildlife

The Division of Fisheries & Wildlife recently moved into a new headquarters building and outfitted their space with AV equipment in their library, meeting room, conference rooms and multiple classrooms. Since the upgrades, the agency’s capacity for providing simultaneous meetings and presentations has increased drastically, and their use of the rooms and technology has been a direct reason for this.

Library Space

The library space at DFW is utilized primarily for in house meetings, webinars, and video conferencing. The space is home to an Infocus Mondopad with integrated camera, microphone and soundbar, a great collaboration tool for the DFW. By using the Mondopad, DFW has the ability to have multiple types of web conferencing calls within the library, and has recently even started using it to conduct interviews over the web to speak with prospective employees. The mondopad has made meetings more dynamic, participants more engaged and workflow more efficient. The mondopad, which is essentially a giant touch tablet in the front of the room, has the ability to do multi-touch, control from abroad and digital interactivity and document annotation with both people in the room and on the far end.  Integration of the ConX IP video phone makes it easy to enable visual communication calls to improve productivity and business interactions.

Large Meeting Space

The large conference room space is a little more complex than any of the other spaces at DFW, but still controlled by a simple touch panel and easy to understand GUI. There are 2 large venue Epson projectors and 2 separate recessed screens by Da-Lite, both controlled by the Crestron control panel, so that presentations can be shown in multiple locations, and the room can be configured in multiple ways depending on the event. By utilizing multiple projectors and screens the presenter can show more than one piece of content at a time, and have it all controlled and routed through one system.  The control panel in the room allows for wall plate control in multiple locations, mic control and the ability to turn the room on or off.  The space can hold up to 150 people, but the building and AV infrastructure was designed so that other rooms throughout the building can be used for overflow space.

Classroom & Small Meeting Spaces

Throughout the classroom spaces and smaller meeting rooms spaces are a combination of eno boards, made by Steelcase, and Epson projectors.  While the spaces are smaller than that of the larger conference room and library, they are still just as powerful for group collaboration and productivity.  The eno boards are interactive whiteboards that can be used as just a simple dry erase surface or used in conjunction with a computer to give the ability to save digital notes and files, taking meetings and brainstorming to another level.  While the eno boards and projectors are new technology for the staff at DFW, the training provided to them by Pro AV Systems helped to get them up and running in no time.
